Who we are
RIG Arts began in 2011 and grew organically as artists responded to the needs of Inverclyde using creativity to affect positive change in peoples lives and their environment. RIG has continued to grow operating in Inverclyde and across the West of Scotland gaining local and national recognition as a multi-award winning organisation.
RIG Arts continues to bring professional artists and the community together in collaborative ways to achieve high quality creative outputs with community at heart. Our objectives are to engage local people through cultural activities – enhancing their lives, developing new skills and encouraging citizenship, community development and education. To encourage the development of a diverse cultural and artistic base within communities, to the benefit of all through education, outreach and heritage.
RIG designs and delivers a dynamic programme of visual arts, film and music projects, workshops, training opportunities, exhibitions, public artworks, and community events. RIG uses creativity to work with people to affect positive change in Urban Regeneration, Climate, Heritage, Mental Health and Access to Arts.
