RIG Arts is passionate about getting art and people into the streets and public spaces to share work, experience cultural activities together and to celebrate creativity with the wider community.

The arts create a wide benefit to those directly engaged in projects but also to the wider public through events, festivals, co-created public art, and creative regeneration all contributing to a sense of connectedness, increased wellbeing and community cohesion.

Galoshans Festival

A celebration of creativity with community at its heart!

We are thrilled to announce the return of Inverclyde’s annual Galoshans Festival for its much-anticipated 2024 edition, marking a very special 10th birthday! Get ready for a magical celebration, filled with art, culture, and Halloween fun that will once again enchant the entire community. This year’s festival promises to deliver unforgettable moments, celebrating the rich heritage and vibrant spirit of Inverclyde.

From 17th October – 2nd November, we’ll be celebrating 10 years of the Galoshans Festival, with a focus on Halloween traditions and the incredible art and culture Inverclyde has to offer. We’re proud to be leading the festival  alongside Feral and The Beacon Arts Centre, with fantastic programming support from Inverclyde Libraries, Watt Institution, Kayos Theatre Company, Greenock Rock Choir, Magic Torch Comics, TRANCND, Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, The Wyllieum, and Inverclyde YMI Street Band. Thanks to the support of Creative Scotland, you can look forward to an incredible array of events—from art installations and theatre to street performances, live music, and much more! And of course, we’ll be rounding it all off with the much-loved Galoshans Street Party, a highlight featuring street bands, live performances, captivating street theatre and art activities.
