Wellbeing and mental health

Helping people of all ages maintain positive mental health is a key priority for RIG Arts and is achieved through regular wellbeing enhancing creative opportunities.

RIG Arts work exemplifies the value of the arts in influencing positive change in people’s lives supporting positive mental health and wellbeing, building confidence, resilience and in supporting recovery. Participants benefit from connecting with people with similar lived experiences and creative passion. The benefits of social interaction, peer support, self-expression and the role that the arts play in this is well evidenced.

Remembering Together Labyrinths

πŸŒ€5 stunning Labyrinths have been created across Inverclyde at Wemyss Bay Community Centre, Gourock Park, Well Park, Greenock, Coronation Park, Port Glasgow and Birkmyre Park, Kilmacolm. RIG Arts, artist Alan Potter and Walk as One, a group of volunteers from across Inverclyde, worked together on this final phase responding to the initial creative consultation carried out in 2022- 2023.

❀️Each Labyrinth is unique but they are connected in providing spaces for reflection and their names represent feelings, virtues and emotional aspirations in response to the pandemic:

Gourock Labyrinth of Joy 😁

Greenock Labyrinth of LoveπŸ₯°

Port Glasgow Labyrinth of HopeπŸ™

Kilmacolm Labyrinth of Peace πŸ•Š

Wemyss Bay Labyrinth of CourageπŸ’ͺ

The Remembering Together Project is funded by The Scottish Government via Greenspace Scotland.
