Regular weekly sessions in a non-clinical environment are designed to harness the benefits of culture, creativity, and community to enhance wellbeing and support recovery. The project will support symptom management, while building coping strategies and self esteem.
Inverclyde Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund will specifically support the expansion of the project to address a need identified through previous delivery: providing targeted mental health support for adults with disabilities and long term conditions.
The Support Worker will work with RIG Arts’ Creativity in Mind Artist Tutors and Project Manager to gain an understanding of the company ethos and project ambitions.
RIG Arts are seeking someone who will make the role their own, develop new and innovative ways to engage participants and represent their voices. The position will involve hands-on support for participants throughout the workshop, as well as potentially helping support participants with symptom management, socialisation and expression.
The project will run from February 2024 to January 2025 and will run one day a week for 2 hours. The delivery day and time is to be determined as a team.

- Maintaining open communication with participants and partners to ensure the project remains responsive and reactive.
- Assisting workshop lead tutors in delivery high quality arts / creative support to all participants
- Building community capacity by identifying lead volunteers, facilitating peer support and actioning gaps in engagement
- Collaborating with RIG Artists to develop and implement plans based upon participant consultation/engagement.
- Working with our Comms Marketer on harnessing social media to encourage engagement: creating project specific copy for all platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and RIG Arts’ website and newsletter.
- Working alongside the Project Manager in monitoring and evaluating delivery of the project against project KPIs
Requirements:
The role is a studio based position for 2 hrs per week, with an additional 20 hrs paid non contact time for research/planning/liaising with carers. Employees will be hired as Freelance staff, freelance staff will be responsible for their own tax and national insurance. The contract type can be discussed at the interview stage and is flexible for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, multi-task, work to agreed deadlines
